Lisa Andarza, MA, BCBA

Lisa graduated from UCLA with a BA in Sociology. During the summer that she graduated, she began working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) first as a play therapist, then a behavior interventionist, building up to an advanced behavior interventionist, and currently as a behavior specialist. Lisa has worked with a variety of ages and skill sets during the last 7 years. In particular, supporting language and sensorimotor development for younger children by collaborating with speech language pathologists and occupational therapists have been some of her dearest memories in the field to this day.
Lisa continued her education and graduated with a MA in Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she also earned a graduate certificate in applied behavior analysis. Lisa has earned her BCaBA certification and is currently preparing to sit for the BCBA examination in August 2016.
Lisa finds parent consultation and education to be one of the most rewarding experiences in her line of work. When caregivers are equipped with skills and helpful knowledge, a child's experiences can be positively changed in very impactful ways. Lisa also feels joyful helping children to find their words and develop communicative language that help them get their needs met. Additionally, seeing children smile and interact with peers is priceless.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys meeting friends for food or catching up with family. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 dogs trying to get the dogs to socialize. She also enjoys visiting her 2 nephews who are growing up too quickly.
